Fantastic Beasts 4: The Return Is Still Uncertain, But Newt Scamander Lives On in Universal Epic Universe

Despite being planned as a five-part series, Fantastic Beasts 4 is currently in development. Following the controversy surrounding author J.K. Rowling and the disappointing box office performance of The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022), Warner Bros. has put a hold on further development of the sequel.

Director David Yates and actor Eddie Redmayne have both confirmed that there are no official plans for a fourth film. However, if there is one, it could continue Dumbledore’s fight against Grindelwald, featuring characters like Newt Scamander (Redmayne), Dumbledore (Jude Law), and Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen).

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. appears to be more focused on developing Harry Potter projects, including a TV series for Max. So the possibility of Fantastic Beasts returning remains a big question mark.

Eddie Redmayne Returns as Newt Scamander at Universal Epic Universe

In 2025, Universal Epic Universe will debut a new area called the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, offering guests the chance to explore the wizarding worlds from both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.

Newt Scamander Returns to the Park

Actor Eddie Redmayne will return as Newt Scamander in new scenes filmed specifically for the experience. This is part of an effort to connect the storylines from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

Bringing Two Wizarding Worlds Together

The Ministry of Magic area will recreate two settings: 1920s Paris from Fantastic Beasts and 1990s London from Harry Potter. Visitors can use the Floo Network to travel between the two cities, immersing themselves in a fascinating and mystical story.

Unique rides and immersive experiences

The highlight of the area is the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride, which uses advanced omnidirectional technology to allow the ride to move up, down, forward, backward and sideways. The ride takes visitors from Paris to the British Ministry of Magic to witness the trial of Dolores Umbridge, featuring familiar characters such as Harry, Ron, Hermione and a goblin named Higgledy.

Other highlights

The park also features a live show called Le Cirque Arcanus, which tells the story of Ringmaster Skender after he steals Newt Scamander’s suitcase. The show combines puppetry, acrobatics, special effects and magical creatures.

The area also features unique stalls such as:

Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique: A place to buy wands to interact with magical creatures.

Café L’Air De La Sirène and Bar Moonshine: Serving food, drinks and specialties such as Butterbeer.

K.Rammelle: Candy shop with unique sweet dishes.

The long-awaited return

The presence of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander not only increases the attraction of the park but also connects the wizarding world in a tight and creative way. With a grand investment, Universal Epic Universe promises to become a destination not to be missed by fans.
